We are looking for a person to take on the role of “Sexual Health Workshop Organiser and Facilitator” to assist CAB in the delivery of targeted health promotion events/workshops to African and Caribbean heritage communities. This role will also include the planning and promotion of the sessions and good HIV and sexual health knowledge is needed to facilitate workshops. 

This role will be carried out on a freelance basis and is likely to last at least 3 months, possibly longer.  The successful agency/individual will be responsible for providing their own office arrangements including all IT.  

Through your strong links with African and Caribbean heritage communities in Bristol, you will identify potential community groups, design and organise events (which could be either one off or ongoing) that will help achieve the programmer’s aims.  You will be responsible for organising the event, i.e. seeking an appropriate venue and working with a budget.  You will also be responsible for promoting the event to ensure it is well attended as well as developing the content and delivering the sessions. 

Examples could include: 

  • organising and delivering a day event for women centered around sexual health and empowerment; 
  • linking into an already formed men’s group to arrange a one off session 
  • organising a film night with a panel of speakers.   

The list is endless, and we hope you will bring your own creative ideas! 

This is a freelance role and we expect to engage you for 15 – 30 hours per month. 

Starting Date: ASAP 

Monthly working hours: Freelance up to 30 hours a month. Hours will include weekdays, evenings and weekends 

Payment£30 per hour  

Contract: Freelance 

Location: CAB is based at Brigstowe’s offices at Old Coop Building (BS5 6AF) however this role is to be carried out in different areas of Bristol 

Training & Support Provided:  

  • Full training & induction 
  • Regular 1-2-1 support & oversight from the CAB Project Coordinator
